Conflict

 Conflict

What really is a conflict?

It is a disagreement that arises especially when there are opposing views, interest or goals between individuals, which then leads to tension or discord. And if not solved or when solved and both parties do not get satisfaction it leads to parties parting ways.

Funny is that disagreements can stem from both unreasonable and reasonable factors. Of course, a plethora of some disagreements could be on the basis of logical differences in opinions, misunderstandings or even emotional reactions.

Are Individuals prepared to disagree?

People differ greatly in how willing and able they are to disagree. A person's disposition for conflict can be impacted by a number of things, such as their communication style, personality, education, cultural background, and the subject matter being discussed.

Some people find it easy to disagree and even welcome it as a necessary component of civil conversation. They might be receptive to hearing alternative viewpoints, respect differences in viewpoints, and view conflict as a chance for development. These people frequently have excellent communication skills, sensitivity, and a desire to have fruitful conversations.

Conversely, some people might be less tolerant to conflict. This might be the result of things like a fear of confrontation, a wish to keep relationships harmonious, or a lack of confidence in their ability to express their views effectively. In some cases, cultural or societal norms may discourage open disagreement, making it challenging for individuals to express dissenting opinions.

The willingness to disagree can also depend on the specific context or topic. Some individuals may feel comfortable disagreeing in certain areas where they feel confident or well-informed, while they may avoid disagreement in other areas where they feel less sure of themselves.

Are individuals prepared to solve conflicts?

Similar to disagreement, some people are more or less prepared to resolve conflicts. While some people are adept at resolving conflicts, others can find it more difficult. An individual's capacity to manage disputes is influenced by a number of elements, such as their emotional intelligence, problem-solving abilities, communication skills, and prior experiences.

To solve conflicts

There are many different approaches to conflict resolution, and the best one will rely on the parties involved and the nature of the disagreement. Here are a few quick strategies for handling and resolving conflicts:

Communication is crucial. It must be honest and open. Encourage everyone to share their thoughts, worries, and emotions while paying attention to what each other have to say.

Making ensuring all parties feel heard and understood is known as active listening. To be empathetic and to provide clarification, repeat back what you have heard.

Empathy: Consider yourself from the other person's point of view and feelings. This can lessen animosity and promote a sense of community.

Clarification: Make sure that all parties are aware of the pertinent concerns. Conflicts are frequently exacerbated by miscommunications.

Getting Along: Determine what interests you both.
